TdB Charity Rider Spotlight: Gabi & Leanne’s Octet Challenge

We are very proud of the fact that a number of participants choose our Tour de Broads events to raise funds and awareness for causes that our close to their hearts. We’d like to take the opportunity to spotlight some of these riders and hopefully add some extra publicity to their campaigns.

Gabi & Leanne’s Octet Challenge

Gabrielle Robinson and Leanne Cable contacted us to make us aware of a special challenge they are undertaking together which will see them complete eight challenging sportives within the space of 5 months. Starting with the 25 mile Tour de Broads Spring this weekend and building up to completing the 100 mile Tour de Broads Summer ride in August, Gabi and Leanne will be clocking a combined total of 1000 miles. This is even more impressive considering the longest ride the girls had completed before setting up the challenge was only eighteen miles!

Gabi and Leanne will be riding for two very good causes, CLIC sergant and Sands. Here are their stories:

As you may know my friend and colleague, Charles Normington Sadly lost her battle with cancer. She was one hell of a fighter and inspiration for me taking on this challenge. Just to give you an idea I only learnt to ride a bike a few years ago…

As you may know my family have recently suffered the devastating loss of my niece Hollie Marie who was born sleeping. A bright star in the sky who will forever watch over our family. Hollie’s memory will forever live on with us however to raise money and awareness of Sands in her memory would make her star shine brighter.”

We would like to wish Gabi and Leanne the best of luck with their challenge and look forward to presenting them with both parts of their Tour de Broads medals after the rides, along with their special Pedal Revolution 20th Anniversary Up A Gear gift. If you spot Gabi and Leanne riding at our events, be sure to give them a shout and a wave of encouragement and maybe a couple of quid if you can spare it!

If you are also riding the Tour de Broads to support a charity or good cause, please contact us and we will feature you on our website and social media.
