A perfect introduction to sportive riding and a great family participation event, the 25 mile route explores the picturesque, quiet, Broadland country roads of Stokesby and Fleggburgh. Stop and refill your bottles halfway at our designated drink stop.
The half-century ride is a good challenge to start your season of cycling, and we have a wonderful scenic route for you. Discover the Broadland waterways with 5 river crossings and flybys past Ranworth, Ormesby and Rollesby Broads. We will provide our 50 milers with three opportunities along the way to stop along the way to refill, and stretch your legs and admire the scenery at our drink stops.
Our 75 milers will dip their wheels into Suffolk for the first two-thirds of the course, enjoying a low-traffic route passing through Oulton Broad, the charming market town of Beccles and across the Waveney at St Olaves before heading back to event HQ for your complimentary lunch. After lunch you will head off towards Caister and quick spin along the 25 mile route before returning once again to the HQ for your well-earned medal, chips and ice cream.
The Century ride. Our serious riders will join the 75 milers through the 50 mile Suffolk loop and back to HQ for lunch. You will then head off for another 50, following the same route as our 50 milers towards South Walsham and Wroxham and Horning. Before hopefully enjoying a tailwind all the way back through Potter Heigham and Ormesby back to the Event HQ where you can wear your 100 mile medal with pride and enjoy the well-earned kudos and chapeau! from your fellow riders and the Tour de Broads Team.
The Tour de Broads South event will also include an alternative shorter tour for younger members of the family to enjoy. The ride should take around an hour and will utilise traffic-free roads. All riders will get an exclusive Tour de Broads family ride medal.
Special Inter-linking Medal
All riders who complete their ride will receive the first part of our two-part interlinking Tour de Broads 2019 mega-medal. The medal will come with a different ribbon depending on the distance completed. Ride the Tour de Broads Summer in August to complete the set.
Free Ice Cream, Free Chips
All riders who complete their route will also receive a voucher for a celebratory portion of chips and an ice cream courtesy of the Beach House cafe.
Your downloadable rider pack includes a FREE parking pass to use in one of Great Yarmouth’s participating pay & display car parks. You will need to print the pass and display it in the windscreen of your car to benefit for free all-day parking. Parking is only available at North Drive (NR30 1ED), Beach Coach Station (NR30 1EN) and St Nicholas Road (NR30 3JP). Full details on car parking can be found in your downloadable rider information pack.
